Mahenge Epilepsy and Community is a group committed to improving livelihoods in Mahenge, Tanzania inspired by the work of Dr. Louise Jilek-Aall, founder of the Mahenge Epilepsy Clinic. Our current focus is the rehabilitation of epilepsy patients. This project facilitates the employment of epilepsy patients in local reforestation and food production for the benefit of the environment, community and the patient. We are also working to initiate a wide range of community development projects. Our community development interests include supporting micro-enterprises, education, reforestation, medical care, and clean water supply.
